A bit about Michael
Hi I’m Michael,
I am currently a practicing teacher and Head of Computer Science in a secondary education setting.
Having over 10 years experience in teaching, which is made up of both Further and Secondary education. I also complete work with the British Computing Society (BCS) and am recognised by the National Centre for Computing Education as regulary updating and developing my own subject knowledge.
I have experience teaching vocational A levels such as BTECs as well as the OCR, Edexcel, and Cambridge GCSE in Computer Science. In addition I also teach and support students throughout KS3 IT and Computing.
I have QTS status awarded by the DfE and a degree in BSc in Computing. In addition I have a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT and both my GCSE Maths and English.
I pride myself on using Innovative ways to teach and assess, as well as using real world examples to help teach complex topics of the Computing Curriculum.
I have experience in programming in C++ and Python as well as teaching these in such a way that students are able to make progress.
I’m offering private tuition to anyone who needs extra support with their Computing Studies. My approach to teaching is a personalised one and I look to use a range of different assessment methodologies to identify gaps and measure progress.
If your child would like some extra support then please do contact me. Prior to any tutoring I like to meet for an initial conversation to see how I best can support their learning, which is totally free of charge. Think if it like an interview so you can have confidence in the service I provide.
My promise to you is that I will provide bespoke learning with high quality resources and support. My tutoring does not just end in the sessions but also continues via email.
In addition to tutoring I offer a practice exam service where you can complete a practice examination paper and send this to me where I will assess and provide written feedback on knowledge and exam technique.
I look forward to hearing from you.
