A bit about Elena

I am a geophysics and meteorology student at the University of Edinburgh. I have studied under the french baccalaureate and tutored many students in maths and physics in the french system as well as A level, giving a wide scope of learning and teaching techniques. From dealing with a variety of students, I understand that successful learning has to be adapted to every student and will cater the teaching to each individual. I enjoy sharing the love for physics and maths and believe that for a student to be successful, they have to be engaged and interested. I will share the knowledge in a meaningful manner, beyond simply the exam to insure successful results.

How does Elena run their lessons?

I like to start the period of teaching by understanding how each student like to learn and where their strength and weaknesses are. I also try to understand where the foundations are missing and fill those gaps in so they can have a thorough and strong understanding of more complex situations. I have found that the reason students are struggling in physics and maths is that they can't visualise it. In those situations, I find that analogies and concrete examples allows my students to fully grasp a topic.
